Paul Hanrahan
President and CEO, AES Corporation |

Has been a Director of AES since June 2002. At that time he was also appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Hanrahan was the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of AES where he was responsible for business development activities and the operation of multiple electric utilities and generation facilities in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In addition, Mr. Hanrahan was previously the President and CEO of AES China Generating Co. Ltd., a public company formerly listed on NASDAQ. He also managed other AES businesses in the U.S, Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining AES, Mr. Hanrahan served as a line officer on a fast attack nuclear submarine, USS Parche (SSN‑683). In March 2006, he was elected to the board of Corn Products International, Inc. He is a graduate of Harvard School of Business and the U.S. Naval Academy. |
