The mission of the Department of Follow-up, Policies and Programs is to coordinate and facilitate the support provided by the departments of the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) to the member states in their efforts to achieve integral development through fostering high level sectoral dialogue and promoting inter-American cooperation aimed at building human capacity, strengthen institutions and the implementation of sound public policies...

We assist the member states in defining policies and taking decisions within the scope of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) and ensure that the mandates, including programs, projects and activities, which are entrusted to SEDI, are fully carried out.

We do this by: rendering substantive secretariat services to the political bodies in the area of integral development; supporting the sectoral departments of SEDI in the planning and follow-up of ministerial and other sectoral meetings within the CIDI framework to ensure intersectoral integration; monitoring the execution of the action areas identified under the Strategic Plan for Partnership for Development; and supervising the execution of projects under the CIDI Special Multilateral Fund (FEMCIDI).
