Program on the Implementation of Trade Agreements: 

The DTTC, UNCTAD, the Secretaría de Estado de Industria y Comercio of the Dominican Republic and the Centro de Exportación e Inversión of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) organized the Advanced Seminar on Administration of Free Trade Agreements: Investor-State Disputes, which took place in Santo Domingo on May 18-19, 2007.

The seminar gave the opportunity to government officials involved in the implementation of the DR-CAFTA and to representatives of the private and academic sectors to deepen their knowledge on a series of issues related to the management of investor-State disputes.

  • Seminar on “International Disputes in Practice” for government officials, private sector representatives and academics from Central America, the Dominican Republic, and Panama. Guatemala City, Guatemala. November 28-December 1, 2006. Funding: CIDA, SIECA, ECLAC, GTZ, and the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala. Organized in cooperation with ECLAC, SIECA, GTZ, and the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala.

  • Workshop on “Doing Business with the US Government in the Framework of DR-CAFTA” for the Dominican public and private sectors.  Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, October 30-31, 2006.  Funding: OAS/FEMCIDI . Organized in coordination with the Subsecretaría de Comercio Exterior of the Secretaría de Estado de Industria y Comercio, the Secretaría de Estado de Finanzas and the Centro de Exportación e Inversión of the Dominican Republic.

  • Promoting Competitiveness through Private Sector Development: Seminar on Quality and Productivity for the Salvadorian Private Sector. San Salvador, El Salvador, September 22, 2006.  OAS/FEMCIDI.
