| Thanks to the training agreements established with the IGAC and the CNR, the SEDI will contribute to the training activities in cadastre and property registry of Colombia en El Salvador by helping to train over 200 public officials. SEDI will collaborate with the self-study CD course “Cadastre Management” ( Gestión Catastral) and other multimedia materials with successful practices in the region.
During January 2007, the SEDI and the IGAC in Colombia signed an agreement to train public officials to improve their cadastre management and land property registration services. The SEDI also signed a similar agreement with the CNR in El Salvador to offer 30 editions of the course to train public officials in this country.
This CD self-study course is one result of the capacity building activities of the MuNet Program ( Municipios Eficientes y Transparentes ), which is supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The course teaches the latest technologies in topics relating to cadastre and land property and provides tools to facilitate the improvement of cadastre systems in municipalities of the member States. In addition to the alliance with CNR and IGAC the SEDI has established partnerships with the Asociación de Municipios de México, A.C. (AMMAC) and the International Training Center for Local Authorities and Civil Society Leaders (CIFAL Atlanta) and several municipal associations to continue making positive contributions to the region's capacity building efforts in this field.
